CON*tourage was founded in 2008 at Dragon*Con by a handful of like-minded, creative party geeks. Since then, our CON*tourage Army has grown in numbers and we’ve traveled to many Sci-Fi Cons in the SouthEast, hosting numerous themed parties and events along the way, with the help of our awesome and hardworking CON CRUE. With that being said, we are wickedly excited to be returning to Dragon*Con where it all began.

Planned for this year at Dragon*Con….FOUR CON*tourage events that will take place throughout the Labor Day weekend, one on each day of the Con (excluding Monday). Keep reading to find out all you need to know…where they’ll be located, what you need to do to get access and lots of other useful info. READ ON!

1.) Annual CON*tourage MEET & GREET (Thursday, Sept. 1st, 8 – 10 p.m., Hyatt Regency lobby bar called ‘Twenty-Two Storys’): Come see old friends and make new ones during the CON*tourage Annual “Meet & Greet!” In addition to this being a great time to mingle, it’ll be a great opportunity for all of us to check out the brand-spanking new “Twenty-Two Storys” bar, formerly known as the “Parasol Bar,” before the place gets packed for the Labor Day weekend. It’ll be easy to find us…just look for the CON*tourage flag in the bar area! In addition to this being a great time to show off your new CON*tourage T-Shirt, it’ll also be a perfect opportunity for VIP Party Pass holders and Regular Party Pass holders to pick up their RESERVED Party Passes. If you don’t have a party pass already reserved and waiting for you, we’ll be doing a “lottery-style” drawing for a limited amount of Regular Party Passes if you want to try and still get one. IF we have any VIP Party Passes left (we are currently sold out), we’ll also take donations for those who wanting to acquire VIP status and privledges. Party Passes, both VIP and Regular, are REQUIRED for entrance to our two late-night parties (21+ only) and will help you gain entrance to BOTH parties. 2.) Annual ‘HEAVY METAL PARTY’ (Friday, Sept. 2nd, Midnight until 3 a.m., CON*tourage Hyatt Suite – location TBA. VIPs enter 11 p.m.):

Time to break out the Metal t-shirts, leather, big hair, studded belts and bracelets — and come release your inner rocker as CON*tourage hosts it’s Annual HEAVY METAL PARTY on Friday Night during Dragon*Con 2011. This unique party theme, along with CON*tourage decked out in their kick-ass rocker costumes, has been such a success that we’ve now made it our staple party; so much so that the name ‘heavy metal’ is now synonymous with CON*tourage it seems. The infamous DJ Nemesis, who will be spinning the late-night Saturday DRAGON DANCE, will be returning for a 3rd year as our Friday night DJ. He’ll be pumping out well-known metal songs from the likes of AC/DC, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, and TONS more for party-goers fist-pumping fury. Prizes for best rocker-inspired outfits and groupies. CON*tourage will also be serving up some wicked tasty METAL PUNCH, along with liquid bread (a.k.a. beer). We’ll be admitting VIP passholders at 11 p.m. Friday night (1 hour earlier), and everyone else with REGULAR passes at Midnight. The party will keep kicking ass until 3 a.m. ….or until your party hosts get hauled away by the police. Click the poster thumbnail to see all the HEAVY METAL PARTY details. 3.) CON*tourage ‘FIESTA CON LOCO’ (Saturday, Sept. 3rd, 11 p.m. until 2 a.m., CON*tourage Hyatt Suite – location TBA. VIPs enter at 10 p.m.): A fiesta like no other…we’re going CON LOCO!! This party is shaping up to be one hot and crazy time…with things like a Booze-Filled Pinata (yes, you read that right), Cactus Limbo, Leah’s Infamous homemade Salsa & Chips, Body Painting by artist Antonio Tiggs, Cerveza (that’s BEER for all of you non-Spanish speakin’ folk), a Margarita-style Hunch Punch (don’t say we didn’t warn you about this stuff) and for all of you crazy, creative folks…a Crazy Sombrero Contest (start heating up those glue guns!!) And what would a party be without ASS SHAKIN’ MUSIC!! The DJ will be keeping the room movin’ with tunes to shake your ass to, all while feeling as if you’ve been transported to a metal-edged Fiesta! We welcome party-goers to add a little “mexican flair” to their look but all are welcomed…costumed or not! Hell, it’s Dragon*Con….ANYTHING GOES!! We’ll be admitting VIP passholders at 10 p.m. Saturday night (1 hour earlier), and everyone else with REGULAR passes at 11 p.m. This Fiesta will keep kicking ass until 2 a.m. – then we’ll advise everyone to head over to the Marriott for the DRAGON DANCE with DJ Nemesis from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Click the poster thumbnail to see all the FIESTA CON LOCO details. 4.) PANCAKE CHOWDOWN (Sunday, Sept. 4th, 10 a.m.until Noon, CON*tourage Hyatt Suite – location TBA – $3 DONATION) ALL are invited to this tasty late-morning shindig! Gotta make sure you eat while at Dragon*Con and sugary carbs are a great way to kick start the half-way point through the Con. This will be the fouth time CON*tourage has hosted their PANCAKE CHOWDOWN so we have all of the kinks worked out and be ready for a great turnout. We’ll have two types of pancakes available: PLAIN and CHOCOLATE CHIP….ALL YOU CAN EAT, but you must clean one plate before going back for more! This will allow us to feed the maximum number of people possible, with minimum waste. Also, if there are others who haven’t eatten yet, please give them priority when going back for more pancakes. In addition to being a great time to fill your bellys you’ll be able to mingle with your fellow Dragon*Con attendees and swap war stories. Feel free to show up whenever…as long as it’s before Noon…and bring your friends! NOTE: NO PARTY PASS NEEDED FOR ENTRY….ALL ARE WELCOMED! WE DO ASK FOR A $3 DONATION UPON ENTERING. Anyone that wants to gain access to our late-night parties at Dragon*Con MUST have a PARTY PASS (along with a Photo I.D.) that will be shown to Door Security before entering. As much as we’d love to open up our parties to everyone, that’s just a recipe for disaster. Read on to find out more about the coveted CON*tourage VIP Party Pass (currently SOLD OUT), as well as a Regular Party Pass (now only available at the  ”lottery” drawing at Dragon*Con on Thursday & Friday night – see below. We are no longer accepting donations or taking t-shirt orders – FYI) and how to snag them:

• REGULAR PARTY PASSES…if you didn’t reserve a Reg. Party Pass, we’ll be doing a “lotttery” drawing on Thursday night during out “Meet & Greet” from 8pm-10pm. We are no longer taking donations or taking orders for CON*tourage t-shirts either.

— will allow you entry into both our late-parties and give you access to party booze, snacks and mayhem.

— will get you a Collectible REGULAR PARTY PASS, held in a plastic sleeve to hang from your rearview mirror afterwards.

— are transferrable so you can let a friend use yours if you can’t make both parties (21+ only).

— LOTTERY DRAWING: We will be handing out a limited amount of Regular Party Passes at our Thursday night “Meet & Greet” via a “lottery” in the newly renovated HYATT ‘Twenty Four Stories Bar (8-10 p.m.). Get there and participate in the PARTY PASS LOTTERY to see if you are one of the lucky ones who snags one of the last remaining required Party Passes! We’ll draw a handful of names from those present to see who wins.

— LOTTERY DRAWING: We will be handing out a limited amount of Regular Party Passes from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Marriott Marquis PULSE BAR on Friday via a “lottery”. Get there and participate in the PARTY PASS LOTTERY to see if you are one of the lucky ones who snags one of the last remaining required Party Passes! We’ll draw a handful of names from those present to see who wins. We’ll update this page once Dragon*Con gets closer on how to find us in the bar.

— can be reserved ONLINE with a $10 party donation…which means you won’t have to worry about if you’ll be able to acquire one while at Dragon*Con — you’ll just need to pick it up. Deadline for reserving ONLINE is Aug. 29th, 2011. And YES…you CAN reserve more than one (1) Regular Party Pass online if you want to give some to friends. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS.

— can be snagged for FREE by helping us decorate/set-up for suite. We’ll be doing this LATE Thursday  night and EARLY Friday morning so if you’d like to secure your Party Pass this way, send us an email to contourage@gmail.com and we’ll get back in touch with you. Plus, this would be a great time to meet the CORE of CON*tourage CRUE and make some new CON friends!

NOTE: Once a partier leaves a CON*tourage party, neither a Regular or VIP Party Pass guarantees the partier entry back into the party. We do not hold a spot in the party for you. Also, if the party is full when you arrive, please be patient. We will do our best to make sure that everyone gets access to both parties and that fun and mayhem are had by all.

— will allow you entry into both our late-night parties, ONE (1) hour early. This means you’ll beat the Regular Party Pass-holder crowd, and get early access to party booze, snacks and mayhem.

• CON*tourage T-SHIRTS (no longer taking orders): With each t-shirt ordered you’ll be able to RESERVE a CON*tourage REGULAR PARTY PASS for Dragon*Con 2011…which means no worrying about IF you’ll be able to snag one! We sold out of VIP Party Passe and handed out all Regular Party Passes last year, leaving many people unable to get one — so kill two Dragons with one stone by ordering a shirt & getting a Regular Party Pass reserved at the same time. CON*tourage Tee Shirts will be shipped early August 2011 in plenty of time for you to wear them at Dragon*Con Labor Day weekend 2011. . A perk of owning a CON*tourage t-shirt? • DOUCHEBAG FREE ZONE: It’s also good to note that all CON*tourage Parties are deemed DOUCHEBAG FREE ZONES. We reserve the right to throw anybody out of the party who is being an ASS and messing with everyone else’s good time. We will have security on hand for anyone who deems it necessary to mess with the good vibe. For the record, a DOUCHEBAG can be best defined as: “An individual who has an over inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intelligence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic they appear.” Click HERE and be on the look-out!
